Akron Steel Treating has been Nadcap accredited since 2004, so for 18 years we've upheld the highest standards in the heat treating industry. This accreditation enables us to stay ahead of the curve, always up to date on the changing requirements and best practices of heat treatment. Nadcap stands for National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program. To be accredited by Nadcap, Akron Steel Treating has to undergo rigorous technical assessments of our compliance with customer requirements and industry standards in the aerospace industry. (If it meets the standards for aerospace, you can expect us to meet the standards for your business too.)

Administered by the Performance Review Institute, Nadcap is a cooperative industry effort to improve quality while reducing costs throughout the aerospace and defense industries. Since Nadcap is an industry-managed council, industry leaders and suppliers alike contribute to defining stringent standards and establishing in-depth, specialty-process audits. This is unlike other general manufacturing or operations audits because it directly addresses the unique needs and requirements of the heat treating process, asking specific questions that only pertain to this process. This is true for the other processes that are Nadcap certified as well.
